Mariposa's Famous Subs, 2927 Sheridan Dr., Tonawanda, NY: 716-833-7672

Since we only just launched this project, we've only got a few places under our belt.  But I'll get things started with a find in Buffalo, NY, that we tried because the sign said they were famous.

Mariposa's Famous Subs is a small shop - 4 tables, one well tattoed owner reading the paper, and a steak & cheese that is unlike anything you'll get at Applebee's.  Thin sliced, just enough cheese, lettuce, tomato, oregano, and italian dressing - the real kind with oil, vinegar, and some spices.  No frills, no complaints.
